Reform UK has made gains at the expense of Labour and the Conservatives in early council election results overnight.

Votes in both Scottish and UK elections have traditionally been counted overnight, beginning after polls close at 22:00 on election day. But that's not the case in this election. Instead, the count is due to begin at 09:00 at venues across Scotland.
